Building a Thoughtful eCommerce Experience for Modern Motherhood

Feeding The Fourth was created to support women during the fourth trimester, providing nutritious, chef-prepared meals delivered directly to new mothers throughout one of life's most demanding stages. Studio Sole was engaged to design and develop a Shopify store that balanced warmth, simplicity and functionality, creating an online experience that made ordering meals as effortless as possible while supporting a growing product offering.

Built on Shopify, the website combines custom design with powerful third-party integrations, delivering a flexible eCommerce platform tailored to the unique needs of both the business and its customers.

Designing Around the Customer Journey

The purchasing experience needed to feel reassuring and uncomplicated. Customers aren't simply buying meals—they're planning support during an important stage of life. Every page was designed with clarity in mind, using clean layouts, considered typography and intuitive navigation to guide visitors naturally from discovery through to checkout.

Rather than relying on standard Shopify templates, the website was customised to create a more refined experience that reflected the care and quality behind the Feeding The Fourth brand.

Tailored eCommerce Functionality

Behind the storefront sits a carefully integrated Shopify ecosystem designed to simplify both purchasing and order management.

A collection of third-party applications was integrated to support subscription orders, custom meal bundles and delivery scheduling through an interactive calendar, allowing customers to build meal plans that suited their individual needs. Additional custom styling and platform enhancements ensured each application blended seamlessly into the overall design, creating a consistent experience from product selection through to checkout.

The result is an eCommerce platform that feels simple for customers while providing the flexibility required to support a specialised ordering process.
